7 days Shah Jahan Tour (7 days/6 nights )

Bookmark and Share -->

Day 1: Delhi-Agra (driving distance around 4 hrs, 250 km).
After breakfast go to Agra. On the way visit Mathura (birthplace of Krishna) en Sikandra (tomb of Moghulemperor Akbar). In Agra of course you will visit Taj Mahal and Red Fort.
Agra's Taj Mahal is one of the most famous buildings in the world, the mausoleum of Shah Jahan's favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It is one of the New Seven Wonders of the world, and one of three World Heritage Sites in Agra.
Agra Fort (sometimes called the Red Fort), was commissioned by the great Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1565, and is another of Agra's World Heritage Sites.

Day 2: Agra – Orchha (driving distance around 5 hrs, 250 km).
On the way visit the Jhansi Fort.
Orchha is a peacefull village famous for its palaces and temples, built in the 16th and 17th century. On a seasonal island on the bank of the Betwa River, which has been surrounded by a battlement wall, stands a huge palace-fort. The fort consists of several connected buildings erected at different times, the most noteworthy of which are the Rajmandir and the Jahangir Mahal.
Numerous cenotaphs or chhatris dot the vicinity of the fort and the BetwaRiver. Elsewhere around the town there is an unusual variety of temples and tombs.

Day 3: Orchha – Khajuraho
(driving distance around 3 hrs,200 km).

Day 4: Khajuraho. One of the most popular tourist destinations in India, Khajuraho has the largest group of medieval Hindu and Jain temples, famous for their erotic sculpture. The Khajuraho group of monuments has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is considered to be one of the "seven wonders" of India.

Day 5: Khajuraho – Gwalior (driving distance around 4 hrs, 300 km).
On the way you can visit Datia Fort. The fortress palace at Datia is one of a magnificent architectural work. The fort is an exemplary combination of the Rajput and Mughal architecture built in 1620 on a rocky elevation.
At the heart of Gwalior is its fortress (Gwalior Fort), built by Raja Man Singh Tomar. This formidable structure had the reputation of being one of the most invincible forts of India. This forts architecture is the only one in India, which shows Chinese influence, as Chinese dragons that have been crafted at the hilt of the pillars. This influence was due to trade between China and India.

Day 6: Gwalior – Bharatpur (driving distance around 4 hrs, 300 km).
On the way visit Fatehpur Sikri. This historical city was constructed by Mughal emperor Akbar beginning in 1570 and served as the empire's capital from 1571 until 1585, when it was abandoned for reasons that remain unclear. The surviving palace and mosque are a tourist attraction and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Keoladeo National Park or Keoladeo Ghana National Park formerly known as the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary in Rajasthan is a famous avifauna sanctuary that sees (or saw) thousands of rare and highly endangered birds such as the Siberian Crane come here during the winter season. Over 230 species of birds are known to have made the National Park their home.

Day 7: Bharatpur – Delhi (driving distance around 7 hrs, 200 km).
On the way visit Mathura. Mathura is reputed to be the birthplace of Krishna. The Keshav Dev temple was built in ancient times on the site of Krishna's legendary birthplace.

Price starts at INR 13.950
